APNEP-Sea Grant Graduate Fellowship in Estuarine Research Since 2015, APNEP and the North Carolina Sea Grant have jointly funded a graduate student fellowship to conduct applied research within the North Carolina portion of the APNEP management area. Fellows conduct research that addresses focus areas identified in the NC Sea Grant Strategic Plan and management actions from APNEP's Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan. The application period for the 2022 Fellowship is now closed. The focus areas for this year's Fellowship were: Estuary spatial planning Submerged aquatic vegetation Coastal water quality Ecological flows Wetlands Learn more The Fellowship is open to graduate students in North Carolina and Virginia for conducting applied research within the North Carolina portion of Albemarle-Pamlico region. The fellow must conduct research that addresses one or more of that year's focus areas. APNEP Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan (CCMP) actions addressed: CCMP actions addressed vary each year depending on the project selected.
