Career Experiences: I am a passionate science educator that started in the K-12 classroom in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. Over the past eight years I have been in higher education and now return closer to home, beginning a tenure at Elizabeth City State University. I have served as a Principal Investigator on several grants from the US Department of Education and various corporate funding sources and currently a Co-PI on an NSF PIRE (Partnerships in International Research and Education) Grant. All of these initiatives have focused on various aspects of STEM education, most of which have had a marine science focus. I am excited to return to the coast and look to leverage ECSU’s resources and location to grow marine science initiatives across the region and state.
