Educators working in Virginia Beach's "Southern Watersheds," which stretch south from the more rural, agricultural portion of the city towards the NC-VA state line, often don't realize that their waterways drain into Albemarle Sound and not the Chesapeake Bay. To increase knowledge of the unique history and natural resources of this region, APNEP is partnering with Virginia-based organizations, including Lynnhaven River NOW, to organize a workshop for educators of the Southern Watersheds. The workshop will be held on July 22, 2019 at the Back Bay Wildlife Refuge and will include opportunities to learn about the Southern Watersheds, get connected with local resources, and even get out on the water!
Registration ends on July 12th and space is limited.
