Equity Strategy Mapper
This interactive mapping tool displayed below, has been developed to showcase APNEP's thought process as we pursue projects and initiatives that align with our Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) Equity Strategy. The web application displays a database comprised of environmental data layers (e.g., river basins, streams), political boundaries (e.g., Counties, Councils of Government), and social vulnerability indexes like EPA's Environmental Justice Screening Tool (EJScreen), Climate & Economic Justice Screening Tool (CEJST), and NC-DEQ's Community Mapping System. Each of these datasets are crucial for facilitating equitable decision-making by the Albemarle-Pamlico NEP and its partners.
The equity mapper web application automatically populates data layers shown on the left hand side of the screen. Users can click these layers, or subcategories, on and off as they choose. Users can also add additional environmental, boundary, or vulnerability index layers not already displayed by clicking the bottom right square with the stacked diamonds. All available data with pop-up, which can be displayed by clicking the eye icon on or off to create your own customized map in the web app.
