Attorney General Josh Stein is pleased to announce the 2022 Environmental Enhancement Grant Request for Proposals (RFP). The EEG program provides grants to non-profit organizations, academic institutions, and governmental entities to preserve and enhance North Carolina’s natural resources. North Carolina Sea Grant’s Community Collaborative Research Grant program is accepting proposals now through February 4, 2022.The program brings communities and researchers together to study high-priority environmental and economic issues in North Carolina. North Carolina Sea Grant strongly encourages proposals from applicants from traditionally underserved and underrepresented communities, as well as proposals that demonstrate how projects and related outreach will benefit underserved and underrepresented communities.
The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF), in coordination with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), is announcing the 2021 Emergency Coastal Resilience Fund (ECRF) to support projects that increase the resilience of coastal communities impacted by hurricanes and wildfires in 2020 and 2021. Funding for this program was appropriated under the Extending Government Funding and Delivering Emergency Assistance Act, 2022 (PL 117-43).
The Five Star and Urban Waters Restoration Program seeks to develop nation-wide community stewardship of local natural resources, preserving these resources for future generations and enhancing habitat for local wildlife.
The Forest Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), State and Private Forestry, and Cooperative Forestry staff requests applications for the Community Forest and Open Space Conservation Program (Community Forest Program or CFP). This is a competitive grant program whereby local governments, qualified nonprofit organizations, and Indian tribes are eligible to apply for grants to establish community forests through fee simple acquisition of private forest land from a willing seller.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), as part of its Science to Achieve Results (STAR) program, is seeking applications proposing research that will address how measurable attributes of water quality improvements can be valued, either directly or through indicators. Research under this Request for Applications (RFA) is intended to focus on national level studies and/or valuation for underrepresented water body types and regions, improvements to water quality indices, and environmental justice valuation.
