Title: Hydraulic Engineer

Department: Water Resources – Reservoir Regulation

Education: BS Environmental Engineering; NC State University (1997)

Primary Focus Area: Hydrologic Modeling for Water Resource Management

Career Experiences: I began working with the Corps of Engineers in Wilmington, North Carolina in 2001. My primary role is “water manager,” responsible for the operations of the Wilmington District’s 5 multipurpose reservoirs in North Carolina and Virginia. I have taken on a few other roles as my career has developed, becoming our water management team’s lead hydrologic modeler – responsible for building, maintaining, and running suites of hydrologic models to inform reservoir operations and river response to rain events. I also have the honor of being the District’s lead on much our Sustainable Rivers Program (SRP) work. I take great pride in being a public servant and having the responsibility for caring for our rivers. SRP allows me the opportunity to bring teams of brilliant scientists together with the common goal of improving how we care for this valuable resource.
